Whatever Happened to Old Fashioned Bike Gangs?
No I'm not insinuating to go out to collect a bunch of hoodlums to create a gang. I'm talking about a group of riders who would plan days ahead to go out on a weekend to just venture out (or in) of the city. We leave our cell phones behind, we leave our worries behind, all we bring is a water bottle and the foreshadowing satisfaction of an adventure. Ride into areas you haven't been before, go down mountains you've never descended on, ride up mountains you never believed you could ascend. Forget everything we know, for one day let our wheels and pedals think for us.

Yeah! No kidding. I had a bike gang party once in college, and it was a blast. We were all hanging out at a friends, and then we were planning on going out. So, we all hopped on our bikes. However, being a little nutso we started to goof off and play king of the circle, which then transformed into a small short-track circuit in the middle of the road, followed by bike polo, followed by another round of king-of-the-circle, and so on. We ended up not even getting off our bikes all evening, except for the occasional run into the nearby bar.
Bring back the Bike Gang!
